Privacy
It is the policy of Seaview Family Medical Centre to maintain the security of personal health information at all times, ensuring that this information is only available to authorised staff members. We abide by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principals (APPs) and the Victorian Health Records Act (2001). If you have any questions regarding our privacy policy you may request a copy from reception.
Communication
To give each patient the best consultation possible, Doctors prefer not to be interrupted by phone calls. Reception staff are happy to take a message, and the doctor will return your call as soon as they are available. In the case of an emergency your call will always be put through to the Doctor immediately.
Electronic communication is used only for correspondence of a non-sensitive nature with email being checked on a daily basis.
Results
Patient’s must book a follow up appointment with their doctor to discuss results. If there are any urgent results a doctor will contact the patient to make an appointment. Please note our receptionists are not medically qualified to discuss results with you.
Feedback
We welcome your views of the practice, particularly on how we can improve our services. If you have a complaint please discuss it with your doctor or our Practice Manager. If you feel your complaint is not resolved you are entitled to register a complaint with the Health Services Commissioner.

Medical Students
As a teaching clinic, we may ask if a student doctor can be present during your consultation. It’s OK to say no, just let your receptionist know before the doctor calls you in. Our clinic is proud to assist the doctors of the future gain an understanding of General Practice.
Interpreter Services
We have linguistically diverse doctors, speaking fluent English, Greek and Vietnamese. The clinic uses the TIS National and Auslan interpreting services to assist patients with their consultation. Please speak to reception if you require us to book an interpreter for your consultation.
